Here are a couple of clips from my first interview with Stasia, one of my nutrition experts. She has something called the "fist method", a suggestion of how to have a healthy and balanced diet. What I want to know is whether this sounds like something you feel that you could try to do -- or is it too demanding? Is having a healthier diet something you want to do? What do you think of the fist method?

I think that if I had learned this meathod as a child, as she is suggesting, it wouldn't be too much of problem.... Althouh it does seem like a lot to remember....

I don't think it's too demanding -- the hardest part for me would be the "fist of protein"

I would like to have a healthy diet, and this looks like a pretty easy way to handle it...

It's kind of like the food pyramid, except that the old one most people know had grain on the bottom, which actually isn't very accurate.

It doesn't seem demanding, but it would be hard in certain circumstances...like if you're at a party or eating out or something. Or just at home...
I think, like Hannah said, it'd be hard for me to adjust to that now, since it's not a habit. Especially the finger of sweets part... :)

I just had another interview with Stasia today, and we talked about the treats and sweets issue. This isn't something you have to strictly follow, it's just an idea for if you want to try to eat a little healthier. The finger of sweets isn't a strict thing. It's a meal-by-meal guideline. If you want to have a bowl of icecream, go for it, just try to have a little smaller scoop.

At a party is hard, because you feel obligated to eat what's there. An idea I had was: before you go, try to eat a little bit of whatever you think won't be available at the party. If you are pretty sure there won't be veggies, try to have some before you go.

But you don't have to do this all the time, it's whenever you can. You can pick the best option you have.
